E3 is the biggest gaming event for developers, gamers, and massive gaming companies. ESA’s E3 every year entertain us with new surprises, titles and gameplay trailers. As the months pass by gamers were looking forward to E3 2020 event to learn more about the anticipated titles of 2020, but the Entertainment Software Association officially confirmed the cancellation of E3 2020 recently because of Corona virus concern.
ESA shared a post on their official website, that reads :
“After careful consultation with our member companies regarding the health and safety of everyone in our industry – our fans, our employees, our exhibitors and our longtime E3 partners – we have made the difficult decision to cancel E3 2020, scheduled for June 9-11 in Los Angeles.
“Following increased and overwhelming concerns about the COVID-19 virus, we felt this was the best way to proceed during such an unprecedented global situation. We are very disappointed that we are unable to hold this event for our fans and supporters. But we know it’s the right decision based on the information we have today.
“Our team will be reaching out directly to exhibitors and attendees with information about providing full refunds.
“We are also exploring options with our members to coordinate an online experience to showcase industry announcements and news in June 2020. Updates will be shared on E3expo.com.”
E3 being cancelled now, we must wait for game announcements which could happen online, however there are no more details on it yet.
Sony Entertainment has already pulled themselves from E3 2020 this year. But other massive gaming companies like Microsoft and Nintendo were looking forward to reveal their plans for 2020.
Covid-19 has led to cancellation of many Gaming and Esports event this year also put a brake on E3 2020.
