Yeah, you read it right. Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed once again.
Cyberpunk 2077 is an upcoming open-world action game and the most anticipated title of 2020. Fans who were eagerly waiting and excited for the game are disappointed now after the series of delay by CD Projekt Red. Developers have pushed the release date of the biggest hit title of 2020 ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ by December 10.
The announcement took fans by surprise and received a huge backlash for the constant delay. Fans have been longing for this game since last year.
Delay of Cyberpunk 2077 & Reasons
The game was in development since long and scheduled to release originally on April 17, 2020. Unfortunately, the game got delayed again to September 17, as developers needed more time to “finish playtesting, fixing, and polishing” the title. Cyberpunk 2077 was delayed for the third time again until November 19th, because developers needed some extra time to go through everything, balance game mechanics, and fix a lot of bugs.
The new release date for Cyberpunk 2077 is set for December 10.
CD Projekt Red stated the reason; shipping the game on PS4/Pro, Xbox One/X, and PC, alongside next-gen versions for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and Stadia, has been a challenge, especially under work from home conditions. Hence, the game is delayed until December.
The Official statement reads “Since Cyberpunk 2077 evolved towards almost being a next-gen title somewhere along the way, we need to make sure everything works well and every version runs smoothly”.
“We’re aware it might seem unrealistic when someone says that 21 days can make any difference in such a massive and complex game, but they really do.”
The news disappointed many of the fans who were desperately waiting for it. CyberPunk 2077 release date has already been delayed by more than 7 months now.
Backlash from Fans
Disappointed fans took it on social media criticizing the company and cancelling their pre-order because they can’t trust the company who fails to fulfill the promise. Some even swear they will never purchase the CD Projekt Rad’s game.
Cyberpunk 2077 is scheduled to release for Xbox One, PS4, and PC on December 10. Next-gen versions for Xbox Series X/S and PS5 will release soon.
