“Raji” becomes first Indian game to get Nominated at The Game Awards 2020

The big news finally for the Indian Gaming Industry. Raji, an ancient action-adventure game by Indian developer ‘Nodding Heads Games’ was nominated for the Best Debut Indie Game category at the Game Awards 2020. This is one hell of big news for the Gaming Industry in our country, with increasing opportunities and elevation of gaming in India, “Raji” has now set the bar for Indian developers.

Raji is based on the Hindu mythological gods and forces, the game tells the story of a young girl who is chosen by the Gods to fight various demonic forces.

Raji gets Nominated at the Game Awards 2020   

Raji first released exclusively for Nintendo in August 2020, and later released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in October 2020. The game was under development since 2018 and turned out to be one of the most amazing Indie game with excellent graphics and story-line. Raji draws inspiration from tales such as the Mahabharata and Ramayana. The visual and graphic follows the Pahari painting style. The most attractive feature of “Raji” is its original soundtrack which immerses you completely into this legendary tale.

The game is globally accepted, welcomed and has been nominated for the Best Debut Indie Game category at the Game Awards 2020. Developed by Nodding Heads Games based in Pune, Maharashtra, India (a team of thirteen people). According to reports, one of the founders of Nodding Heads Games had to sell her apartment to sustain the team working on the project.

After a challenging journey, Raji managed to gain the deserving attention as popular Indian YouTubers like RawKnee, MortaL, S8ul content creators and ShreeMan Legend started streaming the game back then. The game is heavily praised for its storytelling, history and mythological elements of India in-game.
