The exciting news recently surfaced on the Internet – Riot Games is working on a new League of Legends MMORPG.
LOL board game, card game, and a fighting game RPG spin-off, the next League of Legends game will be a Massively Multiplayer Online game, according to executives.
The officials confirmed the new LOL game set in the League of Legends Runeterra universe, in a recent tweet. The executive’s tweet about Riot Games’ next big project ‘League of Legends MMORPG’ literally blew the Internet.
Riot Games’ VP of IP and Entertainment, Greg Street tweeted, his “recent job” is to “develop the League universe” which fans have been asking for a while.
“My recent job at Riot has been to help develop the League universe, which we’re going to need! Because it is time. My new job is to kick off a big (some might say massive) game that many of you, and many Rioters, have been asking us to create.”
One of the fan went on asking – is Riot finally making an MMO?, Greg then clarifies “It is an MMO”.
Fans have been demanding MMORPG for years. And, League of Legends MMO announcement came as a surprise to all. The globally popular MOBA finally gets a new League of Legends game after Legends of Runeterra, League of Legends: Wild Rift.
Travis Gafford, Riot CEO Marc Merrill noted last year, a new MMO is a massive undertaking, even if you’re rolling in cash. “I would love to make an MMO, but just to manage expectations, if we were to do something like that it wouldn’t be any time soon,” he told YouTuber Travis Gafford.
However, we have to wait until 2021 for some sneak peek or reveal about this new LOL MMO. Fans have high hopes from this upcoming MMORPG .
