Psyonix’s popular vehicular soccer will turn free-to-play this summer. The title will also undergo improvements and changes to tournaments, challenge system, cross platform support and progression, Psyonix announced on Tuesday. We can expect some major upgrades in game this summer.
However, no official release date has been revealed yet. The game will also see a shift from steam to Epic Game store the day it becomes free. After that the game won’t be available on steam for download, but the players before the free-to-play scene can still download the updates of game.
The studio said, “Rocket League will also make its debut on the Epic Games Store when it goes free to play. It will be identical to the version on other platforms and will feature cross-platform play with all Rocket League platforms.
Once Rocket League goes free to play, anyone who already owns it on any platform (including Steam) will be able to play the game with full support for future updates and features. However, the Steam version will no longer be available to download for new players.”
Psyonix is offering several in-game rewards to players who purchase the game before it the free version launches in market. It also includes all Rocket League DLC.
The cross platform progression will see changes in inventories, Rocket Pass progresd and Competitive rank, all by linking to an Epic Games Account.
Popular vehicular soccer video game Rocket-League have more thsn 75 million player base since the launch of game. The free to play version is definitely going to increase the number of players. The game is currently available on Steam for $19.99.
