Apple Revealed New Apple Watch SE, Watch Series 6, iPad Air, 8th generation iPad and New Services

Apple unveiled a new set of products at the ‘Time Flies’ event on Tuesday, an annual affair every September. Cupertino, California-based technology giant debuts a broad set of new Apple products. Apple CEO Tim Cook kicked off the virtual press conference from Apple Park announcing Apple Watch Series 6, Apple Watch SE, iPad 8th Gen, and iPad Air (2020). The rumours turn out to be true about an affordable Apple Watch Version SE. The company also announced its Apple One subscription bundle service at the virtual event.

This was a unique event and second major Apple event this year after WWDC 2020, held in June. The event was live-streamed on the Apple website as well as on the company’s YouTube.

The Company unveiled the list of their products and Indian prices as well. In India, the Apple Watch Series 6 (GPS) costs 40,900, the Series 6 (GPS + Cellular) costs Rs 49,900. While the Apple Watch SE (GPS) is priced at 29,900 and the Watch SE (GPS + Cellular) is priced at 33,900.

The Indian Prices of Apple One bundle services are low and affordable in relative to its US equivalent. Apple Music, Apple TV, Apple Arcade, and 50GB of iCloud storage is priced Rs 195 per month. The family plan with Apple Music, Apple TV, Apple Arcade, and 200GB of iCloud storage costs Rs 365 per month and is shareable up to six family members. However, there’s no availability of premium plan for Indians as Apple News is yet to launch in the market.

Another major product launched in today’s event is new iPad (8th generation) priced in India at Rs 29,900 for the Wi-Fi model and Rs 41,900 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular model in 32GB and 128GB configurations. iPad 8th gen is compatible with Smart Keyboard, as well as Apple Pencil, priced Rs 13,900 and Rs 8,500 respectively. IPad Cases and Smart covers are also available.   

The new iPad Air is priced at Rs 54900 and Wi-Fi + Cellular models start at Rs 66900 ($599). It will be compatible with Apple Pencil (2nd generation) is priced Rs 10,900, while the Magic Keyboard is sold separately at Rs 27,900 and Smart Keyboard Folio at Rs 15,900. The new iPad Air is powered by a brand new A14 Bionic chipset that promises 40% faster CPU performance and 30% faster GPU performance. iPad Air will be available in October at Apple Authorised Resellers.

The company is planning to announce new Mac computers with its own chips until November.
