PUBG Mobile Completely Shuts Down in India

It’s been two months since the ban of PUBG Mobile in India. The news took the internet by storm disappointing millions of PUBG Mobile players in India. However, after the ban, players were still able to play PUBG Mobile on their devices as servers were still active in India.

PUBG Mobile along with 118 Chinese apps was crushed in between the conflicts of India and China. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of India banned 118 Chinese applications in India as they pose a threat to the national security and privacy of the citizens of India.

The players who had game pre-installed in their devices were still able to access and play PUBG Mobile. News recently popped up- the company announced PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite server will completely shut down in India. The officials took it on Facebook account announcing they will shut down all access and servers in India from 30th October 2020.

Announcing the news, the company wrote, “Dear Fans, To comply with the interim order of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology dated September 2, 2020, Tencent Games will terminate all service and access for users in India to PUBG MOBILE Nordic Map: Livik and PUBG MOBILE Lite (together, “PUBG Mobile”) on October 30, 2020. The rights to publish PUBG MOBILE in India will be returned to the owner of the PUBG intellectual property.”

After the ban of PUBG mobile in India, the game was no longer available on Indian Google Play Store or the Apple iOS App Store. With the shut down of servers, players can no longer continue playing the game in India.

“Protecting user data has always been a top priority and we have always complied with applicable data protection laws and regulations in India. All users’ gameplay information is processed in a transparent manner as disclosed in our privacy policy. We deeply regret this outcome, and sincerely thank you for your support and love for PUBG MOBILE in India,” Tencent wrote on the Facebook page.

PUBG Corporation promises to work with the Indian government to find a solution and eliminate all the causes of banning PUBG Mobile. South Korea’s Bluehole is looking into whole ban issue and might take over PUBG Mobile India soon which may result in Unban of Game. However, there’s no confirmation whether PUBG mobile will return back in India or not. Stay Tuned until then.
