Sony PlayStation Now recently unveiled the Subscribers count officially. The posts from Sony reads that over 2.2 million people are signed up to the Playstation streaming service.
Sony PlayStation Now has an impressive increment in Subscriber count as compared to last year. The count has been doubled from last time, which was reported as one million subscribers. The figures may look good for Sony but their rival Microsoft Xbox Game Pass saw over 10 million subscribers since its launch in 2017. Whereas, PlayStation Now service had a 3 years head start launching in 2014, doesn’t show impressive figures if compared to Xbox Game pass.

Sony Playstation Now has offered some amazing major titles in the previous month including  Rainbow Six: Siege, The Evil Within 2 in this month. Marvel’s Spider-Man and Just Cause 4 in April, Control and Shadow of the Tomb Raider in March, and Uncharted: Lost Legacy and Horizon Zero Dawn in February. Details of upcoming games in June haven’t been disclosed yet. Adding such huge title may show some significant growth in numbers.
Sony’s online gaming service, PlayStation Plus showed an improvement in growth, hit 41.5 million subscribers at the end of March, a 5 million user increase compared to around this time last year when Sony reported PlayStation Plus exceeded over 36 million active users. Microsoft reported that Xbox Live has amassed 90 million active users in late April.
Considering the current situation right now is the major reason in growth of subscribers for PlayStation and Xbox. People need something for entertainment and fun in Quarantine.
The Next-Gan consoles that are yet to be launched may get affected because of numbers in a rival to Microsoft Xbox Series X. Stay Tuned.
