TwitchCon San Diego Cancelled Due to Covid19

Entire world is fighting against the covid19, many events and shows are being cancelled due to pandemic leaving the fans disappointed. Another major news surfaced on internet recently – TwitchCon San Diego is cancelled because of novel coronavirus.

TwitchCon San Diego is the major annual conference of streaming platform in US. Unfortunately, it won’t be happening soon this year. The officials confirmed the news of cancellation on Twitter. Twitch said,

“Due to restrictions on large gatherings and ongoing concerns for the health and safety of our community, the Twitch team, and the local San Diego community, we have decided to cancel TwitchCon San Diego this fall.”

This is disappointing news for local San Diego Community. The event was originally scheduled or September 25th to September 27th. But, it’s officially confirmed it won’t be happening this year, However, Twitch may announce the digital event soon this year to make up for it.  â€śWhile we can’t gather in person, we’re exploring ways that we could join forces in an alternate dimension later this year,” Twitch said.

This Twitch Con San Diego was the third event that got cancelled. First event was held in 2016 and second in 2019 in San Diego.

Previously, Twitch cancelled TwitchCon Amsterdam  scheduled for May 2nd and May 3rd. Many other gaming events are also being cancelled in these few months including Game Developers Conference and E3.
